What happens after I purchase a serial number?
Within 24-48 hrs you will receive your serial number by email.  Make sure your email settings / junk mail filter will accept emails from purchases@popupchomper.com.  Download the trial copy of Popup Chomper if you have not already done so.  From the Popup Chomper menu, choose * Register *. Click 'Enter Serial Number'. Type in your serial number and click 'Unlock'.

Are there any other accepted payment methods besides PayPal?

Yes.  You may mail a check or money order.  For more information, click * Register * under the Popup Chomper main menu, or contact mjn83@mail.com.

What are the system requirements for Popup Chomper?

You must be running a PC with Windows (all versions) and using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher.  Popup Chomper may also work with some versions of the AOL browser.

How do I prevent WANTED popups from being chomped?

Hold the CTRL key while clicking the link, wait for the window to load, and release the CTRL key. You may also restore the last closed popup by clicking Restore Last > Popup in the main menu.  To allow specific popups, add the popup title to the caption list under Allow/Block.  Use the domain list to allow all popups from certain websites.  For ex, adding cnn.com to the domain list would allow all popups from cnn.com.

What is the Internet Explorer 'Block' button for?  Can I remove it?

If Popup Chomper has failed to detect a popup, click the 'Block' button located in your Internet Explorer toolbar, or under the 'Tools' menu.  Once blocked, that popup will never appear again (unless deleted from block list).  You can remove the button under Options/Advanced Options.

Can I prevent Popup Chomper from starting with my computer?

Yes.  Under Options, uncheck 'Start Popup Chomper with Windows'.

Why am I still getting popups?

Popups may be generated by spyware programs.  If you are getting popups, especially ones that advertise other popup blocking software, you need to run a spyware removal program.  Download "Spybot - Search & Destroy" free at http://www.safer-networking.org/.  Remember also that Popup Chomper (as well as all other popup blocking software) is not 100% effective in detecting popups.  For this reason, Popup Chomper includes the Internet Explorer Block button (see description above).

If Popup Chomper is not working at all, you may be using an outdated version of Internet Explorer (most common on Windows 95/98 systems).  From Internet Explorer, click Tools > Windows Update (free of charge).  This should correct the issue.
